About
Tiger Diep is a recording and mixing engineer, music producer, and saxophonist based in NYC. Originally from Southern California, he developed a passion for music at a young age, playing the saxophone throughout his years in school. He attended the San Diego School for Creative and Performing Arts playing jazz and later went on to attend New York University on a full-ride scholarship for Jazz Studies.

During his time at NYU, Tiger studied with jazz musicians such as Dave Pietro, Rich Perry, Tivon Pennicott, Chris Potter, Lenny White, Billy Drewes, Lenny Pickett, Dave Liebman, Ari Hoenig, Dezron Douglas, and Michael Rodriguez. In 2020, he expanded his expertise into music production and audio engineering where he worked as a recording and mixing engineer at the university’s James L. Dolan Recording Studio, where he was able to learn and record faculty such as Ari Hoenig, Tivon Pennicott, Alex Sipiagin, and Brad Shepik. Later on, he started as an intern Platinum Sound Recording Studios, assisting and engineering sessions soon after for people and songs that include Drake, Clipse, Pharrell, Migos, Chris Brown, Ken Carson, French Montana, Pi'erre Bourne, Cash Cobain, Jay Critch, G Eazy, Lil Kim, Dave East, SoFaygo, King Combs, Homixide Gang, and NBA Youngboy.​

Currently, Tiger works as an engineer and assistant for Todd Whitelock and his company Amplified Art and Sound at Jazz at Lincoln Center. Initially he started as a transfer engineer in 2023, working on DTRS digital 8-track tape and TASCAM and Sony machines. He is responsible for transferring and archiving over 450 recordings of live shows from the years 1993-2005 for JALC. Some of these transfers Tiger has revived include Chick Corea, Tony Bennett, Michael Brecker, Roy Haynes, John Pattitucci, Hank Jones, Roy Hargrove, Gary Bartz, Lee Konitz, Ellis Marsalis, Joe Lovano, Joshua Redman, the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, and the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra.
Tiger is tasked frequently with recording and mixing live shows for broadcast in the various venues at JALC as well as serving as an editor and assistant engineer for JALC's in-house label Blue Engine. He has contributed to albums featuring the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, Christian McBride, Ted Nash, Carlos Henriquez, and Hamilton De Holanda's album "Hamilton de Holanda Trio - Live in NYC" that won a Latin GRAMMY this year. Outside of the audio needs of JALC, he has been contracted to do broadcast audio work for commercial events such as the Sports Emmys and Time 100 Gala, working with Dua Lipa and Fantasia.
